The fair happened to be in town in Cardiff Bay when I visited! We went twice; Caby I think wanted to go on one of the rides, but it was billowing water vapor for fog and that's what triggers her asthma the fastest. We already had one trip to A&E (not the TV channel) this trip, we weren't keen on deuces. (I wanted to get on the big ferris wheel, but Caby doesn't do heights.)
It was an interesting vibe all around though, and funny how overcast and a little cold these photos look. It was the middle of August, I promise. Seeing all these pop-up fair booths with the bright brick red Pierhead Building right behind it, the Benny Hill theme blasting out of the North Pole house, the normal leisurely dock activities continuing below, it was an interesting mixture.

We had some fair food (bacon nacho onion fries and a big cheeseburger, big tasty) and marveled at The Nutella House from these funky painted booths that seemed to attract wasps while we ate. Obviously couldn't get a photo, but there was a little girl with a gigantic rabbit plushie a decent bit bigger than her sitting next to her at a table when we left. Plushies bigger than yourself go crazy. It's like having a really tall friend and he's squishy.

We always gotta hit up Cadwaladers when we're in the area. How can you say no to really good local ice cream that you eat in a building on stilts over the water? Don't recall what we got the first time, but when we came back through on our last day in Cardiff (lil going away thing), we got milkshakes, mint chocolate chip for Caby and New York biscoff cheesecake for me. Super rich, super super good though.
I dunno, maybe you think this is kind of an ugly scene because it's so overcast? The apartment block in the back doesn't help. I thought it was a vibe while I was there, though.
The rest of these are just shots around the bay, really. Some birds, some nice shots over the water, and some shots taken around various corners slightly away from the action. A lot of these were taken while we were waiting to get picked up by the Dad Taxi. (Seriously, he's very nice about rides. We try not to take advantage of it, but it's a good option, especially if he has to pick Caby's mom up from work anyway.)
