Being the Harmonix fan that I am, I've known Amplitude by many different names. Rock Band Unplugged, Lego Rock Band and Rock Band 3 on the DS, there's that Amplitude remake for the PS3 and PS4—but I'm especially fond of the original. The soundtrack is stacked with early 2000s pop music and electronica from, lordy, everyone—P!nk, blink-182, Garbage, P.O.D., David Bowie (who was meant to be a playable character in the game)—and you really have to see it in motion, it's a trip for the eyes.
Here's my personal bests for all the songs and difficulties. (Videos will be linked with the scores if available.) I'm not too bad at it; my proudest moment in the game so far has to be my 9260 on "Kimosabe" on Insane from October 2022. Amplitude rates your performance in bars, sorta like stars in Guitar Hero. Mellow difficulty only gives you three bars per song max, while every other difficulty gives you four bars max.
I've gotten full bars on all difficulties except Insane, as the final secret song, "Spaztik", requires a particularly insane 10,000 point run and that's one-half luck with power-ups and one-half having the right controller to play it with like I don't. Still! Very fun game, and if you can get it working, online with four people all being total assholes with the powerups is a blast. Maybe someday I'll get full bars, but I'm happy with this for now. Peep that highly satisfying 111,555 cumulative score across all the Brutal stages!
